Heat – Resistant Polyphenylene Sulfide(PPS) Rod: Ideal for High – Temp Applications

Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) rods are high-performance engineering plastic products known for their excellent thermal stability, chemical resistance, and mechanical strength. PPS rods are widely used in demanding industrial applications due to their ability to withstand harsh environments while maintaining structural integrity.

‌PPS has the following main features‌:
1. High temperature resistance‌: The melting point of PPS is as high as 280℃, the heat deformation temperature is 135℃, and it can reach 260℃ after glass fiber reinforcement. In air and nitrogen, the initial and weakening temperature of PPS is about 400℃, it decomposes in air at 700℃, and can still maintain 40% of its weight in inert gas at 1000℃. The long-term use temperature is 200~240℃‌
2‌, Mechanical strength and rigidity‌: PPS has high hardness and high rigidity, with a crystal content of about 65%, fast crystallization speed, good fluidity, and short molding cycle. Under high temperature and high humidity conditions, the rigidity of PPS decreases very little, and it has excellent creep resistance and fatigue resistance‌
3. Chemical corrosion resistance‌: PPS can withstand corrosion from a variety of acids, alkalis and salts, and is insoluble in any organic solvent below 200℃. Its corrosion resistance is almost equivalent to that of polytetrafluoroethylene, and it is suitable for a variety of chemical environments‌
