The density of POM polyoxymethylene is 1.42. It is a homopolymer of formaldehyde obtained by polymerization of formaldehyde. It is a linear polymer without side chains, high density and high crystallinity. It is another engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive performance after polyamide. As a thermoplastic crystalline polymer, it is known as “super steel” or “saigang” and is one of the five general engineering plastics.
Polyoxymethylene is a hard and dense material with a smooth and shiny surface. It can be used for a long time in the temperature range of -40°C to about +100°C. It has high mechanical properties such as strength, modulus, wear resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance and creep resistance. It also has excellent electrical insulation, solvent resistance and processability. Its wear resistance and self-lubrication are also superior to most engineering plastics, and it has good oil resistance and peroxide resistance. It has high heat resistance, bending strength and fatigue resistance, and excellent wear resistance and electrical properties.
Applications: Electronics and electrical, machinery, instrumentation, medical technology, daily light industry automobiles, building materials, agriculture, sports equipment and other fields. Gears, levers, pulleys, sprockets, bearings and valves, precision metering valves, chain links and rollers of conveyors, flow meters, cranks and other window turning mechanisms, heating plates, instrument buttons, etc.
POM has high strength, high finish, good sliding and wear resistance.
Conductive POM modified POM has better conductivity.
Antistatic POM has relatively good surface and volume antistatic properties, weather resistance and wear resistance.
POM-CF15 adds 15% carbon fiber.
POM+PTFE solid lubricant PTFE reduces friction coefficient and is smoother and more wear-resistant.
POM-GF30 adds 30% glass fiber reinforcement.
